The falcons are back at Mount Adam! Last year a pair of  Karearea or NZ native Falcons successfully raised two young just a few hundred metres from the Lodge.

This morning the familiar k-k-k-k call was heard & a Falcon spotted in a branch above the fowl run – much to the discomfort of the hens. However, after a few minutes sizing up the scene, the visitor departed at trademark high speed. This shot was taken last November & shows a Falcon (approaching from the right) seeing off a pair of Paradise Ducks who had come too close to the nest.
